Darius Carter, former Cache County Sheriff, dies

Former Cache County Sheriff Darius Carter, who served as the county’s top cop from 1970 until 1978, died Sunday at the age of 73, apparently from a stroke.

Before being elected sheriff Carter was a security officer at Utah State University and also worked for the Logan Police Department. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathy who also worked for the sheriff’s office for several years.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon at the Logan River 5th Ward, 993 West 1000 South in Logan
