Lemon: county employees want tax increase to cover raises

There will be yet another discussion on employee compensation at Tuesday’s meeting of the Cache County Council. Employees met with the council prior to the last regular meeting but County Executive Lynn Lemon says things have not been resolved.

“I know there’s some frustration on the part of some employees because we listed a number of things we wanted to do to raise the money,” Lemon says. “We didn’t include a tax increase and some of them think we need to do it.

“At least what the committee has said is that we need to consider everything else before we consider that.”

Also at Tuesday’s meeting recommendations for RAPZ Tax funding will be presented and the Bear River Mental Health Services annual report will be presented by Reed Ernstrom, executive director. The meeting starts at 5 p.m. in the Historic Cache County Court House.
