McAleer believes her military background will help save Hill Air Force Base

Saving Hill Air Force is critical according to Donna McAleer, Democratic candidate for First District Congress. She is running against Ryan Combe in the Democratic primary and the winner of that race takes on incumbent Republican Rep. Rob Bishop.

McAleer says as a West Point graduate who also served in Germany with the U.S. Army she understands that Hill Air Force Base is not only needed as the third-largest employer in the state of Utah. She says Hill is also an extremely important part of our national security portfolio. And, McAleer says, she is the best candidate to help save Hill Air Force Base.

“I understand the military. I’ve been in the military. I’ve served my country,” McAleer said. “I understand the importance of a strong national defense and a good relationship.

“So I come at it having once worn the uniform, not just having talked about it as a legislator.”

McAleer was a guest last week on KVNU’s Crosstalk show. Her primary opponent, Ryan Combe, will be on the same program on May 22.
