Republican incumbents will be forced into a Primary

It was not a good night for Republican incumbents in Cache County. District 4 incumbent state lawmaker David Butterfield and long-term Cache County Councilmember Cory Yeates failed to get the huge required 70 percent number of votes to avoid a Primary election at the Cache County Republican Convention Wednesday night. Delegates to the county’s annual convention voted 79 to 66 in favor of Dr. Redd over Butterfield but incumbent Yeates did garner the most votes, 28 to 25, for Cache County Council in Logan’s District one. The candidates will fight it out in a Primary election on June 26.
