Christian Fitting, the tenant of a trailer that went up in flames Tuesday, has been arrested for his suspected involvement in the fire. When police arrived on scene Tuesday, Fitting was standing in front of his trailer located at Riverside RV Park in Logan. Officers moved him to a safer location and questioned him about the fire. According to a prepared statement by Logan City Police Department Assistant Chief Jeff Curtis, Fitting said there were no people in the trailer, but said there was a cat. At that point the trailer was too hot and already engulfed in flames and it wasn’t safe for officers to try to retrieve the animal. Fitting did not have any physical injuries, but was transported to Logan Regional Hospital Tuesday afternoon as a precaution. He was released that same afternoon. Officers reviewed interviews and evidence from the scene with the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, and police made the arrest Wednesday. Fitting, 40, has not yet been charged, but could face misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment, cruelty to animals and intoxication and a first-degree felony charge of aggravated arson.
