SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Family members say a Utah State University cross country runner is staying upbeat even amid serious injuries from a rappelling accident last week. The 21-year-old Brittany Fisher spent the weekend in a Las Vegas hospital instead of competing with her team. Her brother, Braden Fisher, tells the Deseret News (http://bit.ly/FRhZvD ) she has little sensation in her legs and is expected have reconstructive surgery on her foot soon. Fisher, who’s from Naperville, Ill., went on an early-morning climbing excursion with a friend on March 12 while taking a spring break trip in St. George. Her brother says she was descending a cliff too quickly and was unable to stop, falling about 50 feet. Fisher’s coach, Gregg Gensel, says Fisher is already setting goals for when she’ll walk and run again.
