Aggie Football Signs Pair Of Snow College Transfers

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State football head coach Gary Andersen announced Monday that the Aggies have signed a pair of Snow Junior College transfers, inking offensive lineman Joe Summers and defensive lineman AJ Pataialii (pronounced Puh-tie-uh-lee-ee).”We’re recruiting everyday to find the best players available, and we feel we’ve found that with Joe and AJ,” Andersen said. “We expect them to come in and not just compete for playing time but for starting positions as well.”Summers, a 6-3, 300-pound offensive lineman, is a native of Tremonton, Utah (Bear River HS). Summers will have three years of eligibility for the Aggies. At Snow, he started in all 10 games he played, playing alongside fellow USU signee Bill Vavau in helping clear the way for a Badgers’ offense that 345.4 yards per game (139.9 ypg rushing, 205.5 passing rushing) as Snow won the Top of the Mountains Bowl title. At Bear River HS, Summers earned all-state honors in helping the Bears to a 10-4 overall record and a 5-0 league mark in his senior season. He is the son of Kelly and Jennifer Summers and is married to Alyssa Summers.
