Local school children’s art will be on display March 10 at “A Festival of Words,” a fundraiser for Bridgerland Literacy and the Bridgerland Storytelling Guild. The festival takes place at the Bullen Arts Center from 2 p.m. To 7 p.m. with a concert starting at 7 p.m. Admission costs $1 per person for the festival, and 5 per individual or $20 for the family. The concert, called “Milk and Cookies Storytelling,” will be a combination of music, magic, dancing and storytelling. Bridgerland Literacy Coordinator Haley Peterson said while this is the first festival like this they’ve done, they hope to make it an annual event. The festival is for the whole family. Throughout the day, there will be art and book venders, writing contests, a Hogwarts Hall for Harry Potter fans, a variety of performances and various workshops for all audiences. Ten local authors will also get to talk about their books.
