USU celebrating Founders Day, Morrill Act

Utah State University is celebrating Founders Day on Friday, March 2. This year the university is not only celebrating its 124th birthday but it also celebrates the 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s signing of the Morrill Act of 1862.That was the act that established the land-grant system of colleges and universities. USU President Stan Albrecht says Utah State University is proud to be a member of the great collection of land-grant universities whose mission and purpose is ultimately connected to the concepts of access and opportunity.USU’s presence in the state now includes Utah State Eastern, four regional campuses and extension offices in 28 of 29 Utah counties.
