The Utah Department of Transportation is making an effort to help schools and their communities develop safe routes for children and also encouraging children to conduct themselves safely when walking or biking to school.
UDOT spokesman Vic Saunders says on Friday, March 2 students at the Nibley Elementary School and their parents will have a chance to see the special “red carpet” premiere of the motion picture “SNAP, Walk ‘N Roll: The Movie.”
“This is part of the UDOT Student Neighborhood Access Program,” explains Saunders. “It’s a movie designed to teach our school children how to properly walk and bike to school.
“They’ll actually participate in a premiere-like event where the kids will be able to see the movie for the first time, it will be the first time shown in Northern Utah, and they will be able to see that movie and take that pledge at the end of the movie.”
The students will take a pledge to walk safely and bike safely to and from school each day.
