Enticing tourists to come to Cache Valley is the major focus of the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau and the bureau’s executive director says those efforts have been paying off. Julie Hollist says the annual report has come in for the transient room tax, which is the money collected from visitors at local hotels. “2011 was our highest year yet,” Hollist exclaims, “which is impressive considering the economic climate. It’s impressive anyway, but especially considering our economic climate. So I’m really excited about that.” Hollist says the amount of restaurant tax is also up and she knows most of that comes from visitors. She says those visitors come from all over the world.
