The Bulldogs were within striking distance of the Aggies early in the second half at 49-43 when Utah State went on a 16-6 run. Utah State led by as many as 16 before the Bulldogs worked it back to 69-63 with 2:05 to play. The Aggies had two consecutive turnovers and Gibson nailed a 3-pointer. There were seven lead changes and five ties in a first half that featured tight defense by both teams. Medlin shot 9-of-14 from the field in the game, 4-of-6 from the 3-point line, while Reed was 6-of-7 from the field in the second half, all in the paint. The Bulldogs came into the game with the best-scoring bench in the conference, but were outscored by the Aggie bench 16-10.
