Local residents are invited to attend the Cache Valley Area Investors Association meeting Thursday, February 2 starting at 7 p.m. in the Cache Chamber of Commerce building. CVAIA Founder and President Preston Parker says for those not familiar with the organization the CVAIA is akin to an investment club, except it does not require a fee, a membership or putting money into a pool to invest with.”That’s something some of our members are interested in doing,” Parker explains, “but really our focus has been on education and networking. When it comes to decisions about what are we going to invest in, there’s individual decisions that are made, there’s some group decisions that are made. “But the majority tends to be teaming up with the other members in the association and doing some new thing that you haven’t tried before so that you can learn together.”Parker says Logan Attorney and Logan Municipal Councilmember Herm Olsen has been invited to meet with the group and this is an opportunity for people interested in learning more about becoming financially independent. Parker says Olsen is known throughout Utah for his expertise in the field of law. He has over 30 years of experience in personal injury litigation and obtained millions of dollars in personal injury settlements.Parker says members of CVIAI meet every first and third Thursday at 7 p.m. to teach one another about smart investing.
