Ogden– The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) advises motorists that State Road 23, presently closed from milepost 2.5 to milepost 5 between Wellsville and Mendon, Cache County, will re-open to all traffic at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon. Repairs of this highway are now being completed, and motorists are urged to drive cautiously through this area. Storm run-off may occasionally drain across the roadway as wet weather is expected to continue intermittently through Monday. Motorists should watch for warning signs indicating potential run-off zones and reduce speeds accordingly. SR-23 was closed to all traffic beginning yesterday afternoon due to excessive storm run-off, which led to local irrigation canals overtopping their banks and causing moderate to heavy roadway flooding and shoulder erosion.
