Utahns are among the most optimistic people in America according to Governor Gary Herbert who was in Cache Valley Wednesday addressing Utah State University College Republicans and conducting a town hall meeting in Wellsville Wednesday night. On

, Herbert said the budget he released several weeks ago was not only optimistic it was also rational and realistic based on current circumstances. “There is reason to be optimistic because our economy is growing again in a significant way, certainly in comparison to other states,” Herbert said. “Our economy is growing at a rate nearly two and half times the national average. We have probably the second or third fastest growing economy in America behind North Dakota.” Herbert said his budget provides enough money to pay for the growth in pubic education and also give teachers a pay raise for the first time in three years.
