Utah Governor Gary Herbert is speaking at a Town Hall event hosted by the Cache County Republican Party Wednesday, January 18. Cache County GOP Chairman Boyd Pugmire says the Town Hall meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Wellsville Elementary School located at 90 East 100 South in Wellsville. He says the event is free and open to the general public. “We’ve asked the governor if he could come and meet with the people of Cache Valley,” Pugmire says, “where they could ask different questions about the economy, the environment, whatever their question may be.” Pugmire says that the party has been able to orchestrate similar events with other high-ranking elected officials over the past six months. “We did the same thing with Congressman Bishop this fall,” he continues. “We also had a town hall meeting with Senator Hatch this fall.” Pugmire says he hopes a lot of people will take advantage of the opportunity to come meet and talk personally with the governor. USU College Republicans will also be hosting Gov. Herbert earlier in the day for Pizza and Politics from 4-5 p.m. The free event will take place in the Engineering Building room 103 and all are invited to attend.
