State Democratic chair visiting Logan Wednesday

Utah Democrats could soon be losing their state party chairman. The first openly gay chairman, Jim Dabakis, is reportedly on the short list to replace Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese who is leaving the Washington, D.C. post when his term expires in March.The active and vocal Democratic chairman spent almost 15 years hosting talk radio shows in Utah. Dabakis is coming to Logan on Wednesday, January 18 and he will be a guest on KVNU’s Crosstalk show earlier that morning. He will also meet with officials at Utah State University and attend some Democratic party events.Dabakis will be in Logan on the same day that Governor Gary Herbert visits Cache Valley for a Pizza and Politics event at USU and a town hall meeting later that evening.
