After a high speed chase that began in Brigham City Tuesday that turned into a K9, helicopter and foot search, officers were finally able to apprehend the man that evaded capture and fled at high speeds on I-15 and through rural communities in northern Box Elder County. Officers received a tip Wednesday that the suspect was staying in a motel in Malad.According to an official release from the Utah Highway Patrol, UHP received a call from Onieda County Sheriffs Office in Malad indicating that a male subject matching the description of the suspect had been picked up by a truck driver and dropped off at a local motel at about 3 a.m.When the Idaho deputies talked to the suspect he gave them a false name but admitted that he had run out of gas in Box Elder County and had been followed by police prior to their questioning. He had clothing on that matched the description of the suspect and eventually through family members they were able to identify the subject as 27 year-old Richard M. Quinn of Ogden, Utah.Quinn was arrested on false information charges and had an outstanding warrant out of Idaho. UHP authorities will be issuing a warrant for Quinn’s arrest for felony evading police, possession of a stolen vehicle and reckless driving and will ask that he be extradited back to Utah to face these and possible other charges.Quinn also has two no-bail warrants for his arrest in Davis County in Utah.
