Utah’s Democratic Party chairman says he identifies with the idea behind the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement but he is not sure right now whether or not he thinks “camping out” like they are doing is the best way to get a point across.Jim Dabakis says he is glad they are bringing up the inequality point because it is even worse in Utah than many other states. In Logan recently, Dabakis said the situation was made worse by former Republican Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr. who is now running for president.”He came up with that five percent flat tax,” Dabakis explained. “The devastation that has done. It has brought $130 million a year out of our primary education in the state. People aren’t talking about that.”And, who got that benefit? Your up in the top five or six percent.”Meanwhile, he says Utah’s funding for public education continues to be the lowest in the United States.
