Golf course celebrating new club house

Big discounts to play golf on Halloween Day are part of Monday’s celebration at the Logan River Golf Course as part of the New Clubhouse Grand Opening and Customer Appreciation Day. “For everybody who comes down and pays a green fee for nine or 18 holes, we will give them their cart for that day for free,” said club pro Jeff John. “They can save anywhere from $7 to $14 for their cart for the day. “Everything in the shop is cut in price from 10 to 50 percent off, some items even more than 50 percent off.” John said there will be free Pepsi and other treats. It will be an opportunity to see the new Tournament Room, built to stage golf events and banquets, in addition to the new pro shop and snack bar area plus the new cart storage area in the basement. Those who supported building the new clubhouse argued it could become a revenue-producer with the hosting of banquets and other events. “It’s already happening,” said John. “The month of November the Tournament Room is reserved for three wedding receptions already and there are already 11 Christmas parties scheduled for December. And we haven’t even advertised it yet. This is just an added benefit of having the building. “We feel having this facility available might create business for restaurants whose facility might be full but they can get one more catering job using our room.” John said Monday’s event is a way to say thank you for the support of so many through this golf season which included the new construction and the Logan River flooding onto the course. “We’ve put all of our season passes on sale, they will be available Monday, and our punch passes will be on sale later on in November through Christmas, reduced from last year’s rate. It’s a way to show our appreciation for everybody hanging with us and putting up with all the mess for a year.”
