Candidates list aging infrastructure as top priority in Logan

You would have to call the Wednesday night debate between the six Logan Municipal Council candidates “friendly.” During a forum at Logan City Hall the candidates responded to questions from KVNU For the People hosts and all six listed aging infrastructure as probably the most serious problem facing the city right now. Three of the candidates will be eliminated in the November 8 election. Those running for the three seats are incumbent Herm Olsen, former mayor Doug Thompson, Tom Jensen, Angela Fonnesbeck, Jeanie Simmonds and Karl Ward. All of the candidates pledged to do all they can to get people out to vote. Only six percent of Logan’s eligible voters cast their ballots in the primary election. Citizens will get to learn more about each of the candidates on KVNU’s Crosstalk shows prior to the election. One of the candidates will appear on the program each day beginning Monday, October 24 That is the day Tom Jensen will be the guest, while the others are Angela Fonnesbeck, Tuesday, incumbent Herm Olsen on Wednesday, Karl Ward on Thursday, Doug Thompson on Friday and Jeanie Simmonds on Monday, October 31.
