Tremonton resident dies in I-80 crash

Tremonton resident Tyler Matthew Bowcutt, 32, was killed following a traffic accident on Tuesday, October 11 on Interstate 80. Just after 4 p.m. a silver Mazda MX-3 driven by Bowcutt was traveling eastbound on I-80 near Parley’s Summit at a high rate speed when he crashed into the rear of a gray Subaru Legacy. The Subaru was driven by 46 year-old Park City resident Jody Lynn Baker and she suffered only minor injuries According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Bowcutt lost control of his vehicle, veered to the left, then right and over corrected. His Mazda then ran off the road to the right, through a barbed wire fence, down an embankment and into a telephone pole and was killed upon impact. Officers believe excessive speed by Bowcutt may have been to blame for the accident and are continuing their investigation. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
