Bear River falls to Morgan 48-12

On Friday night the Morgan Trojans and Bear River Bears were both 1-2 going into a game that they both really needed to win respectively. Both teams came out in the first quarter playing great defense and offense when Morgan was the first to score with a touchdown. It was Morgan 7-0 for the rest of the first quarter. Going into the second quarter the score was 7-0 Trojans over the Bears. The Bears defense allowed the Morgan offense to score another touchdown making the score 13-0 pending the extra point. The extra point was blocked by the Bears making the score 13-0 going into halftime. In the third quarter the Bears defense allowed the Morgan offense too score two more times making the score 27-0. Late in the third quarter with four minutes left the Bears’ Tyler Rasmussen intercepted the ball and ran it back for a touchdown. It was now 27-6. The Trojans blocked the extra point. Going into the 4th quarter the Bears were down 27-6 when Bears quarterback Kyle Zundel threw a touchdown pass to Hazen Wood making the score 27-12 pending the extra point. The extra point was blocked by the Trojans. The Bears were starting to finally show some life and got the ball back and were on the 46 yard line of the Trojans when it was intercepted by the Trojans and ran back to the Bears’ five yard line. The next play the Trojans scored again making the score 34-12 with the extra point being good. For the rest of the game the Bears couldn’t get anything else on offense to go their way and ended up losing the game to the Morgan Trojans 48-12. During the game some of the important stats that occurred were the Trojans had 401 yards of offense and had a total of 68 plays while the Bears were held to negative one yard rushing, went 4 for 14 passing for 35 yards and had a total of only 34 plays. Next week the Bear River Bears will be at Grantsville and hopefully will get a big win that they really need! The game will start at 7pm and can be heard on 104.9 FM and on kix96fm.com.
