The Bear River Bears and Ben Lomond Scots were two teams very much in need of their first Region win. Bear River had a little motivation with the celebration of Homecoming week and they used that to their strength in posting a throttling 48-19 win over the Scots. It was a slow start for both teams, but in the second quarter they lit up the scoreboard. The Scots scored 2 TDs to get themselves going and had the ball looking to add on but threw a interception. It was all Bear River from then on. A run to the house by Wes Fukui for 42 yards and a failed PAT put them down by 6 and then pulled off a successful on-side kick and scored quickly, but once again failed to score the PAT. The Scots threw another pick and the Bears picked up three points and just like that at half it was 15-13. Bears continued to roll scoring easily in the second half and before the Scots could put their final six points on the board the Bears ran off 48 unanswered points. Kyle Zundel was a big part of the stud rushing effort and was rewarded by the staff as player of the game. The Bears now prepare for their final home game of the season against Morgan next Friday night. Game action can be heard on 104.9 in Box Elder County or by listening online at kix96fm.com.
