School boards approve employee agreements

The Cache County School District Board of Education approved licensed and classified employee negotiated agreements at its meeting Thursday.Under the agreements, teacher steps and lanes will be maintained for fiscal year 2012. The Logan City Board of Education also approved a a Licensed Employee Negotiated Agreement for the school year at a board meeting Sept. 12. The agreement sets aside $555,874 from capitol outlay funds, $50,000 of which will be used toward lanes, and $252,937 will be used to cover steps for eligible employees at 66 percent of full value. The district’s insurance will be changed to a high deductible plan ($2,500 per person, $5,000 per family), which will be fully funded by the employer for fiscal year 2012. The agreement specifically states later negotiations will dictate who will pay insurance premiums in the future. –
