Ride for the Fallen memorializes fallen soldiers, raises money for scholarship

The fifth annual “Ride for the Fallen” is coming up on Saturday August, 27 and the motorcycle charity run is to honor those who have fallen and those who have yet to return. The event was started by Brett and Zel Allred of Hyde Park after their son, U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Michael Allred, was killed in Iraq on September 6, 2004. This year a memorial tribute to Cache Valley’s fallen military will start at 9:30 a.m. at Elk Ridge Park in North Logan. There will be a patriotic program, a tribute to all of Utah’s fallen military and a Memorial Wall representing over 6,000 men and women who have died in uniform. There is a barbecue lunch at 2 p.m. after the ride along with an auction. The proceeds go to the Lance Corporal Michael J. Allred Scholarship Foundation.
