Architect, business owner and planner files for Logan Municipal Council

Longtime community leader and business owner Tom Jensen has for the first time entered the political arena. The owner of Architectural Nexus, Inc. has filed for one of the three open seats on the Logan Municipal Council. Incumbent Herm Olsen, former Logan Mayor Doug Thompson and Meri Fisher are the other candidates who have filed with only a few days remaining before the July 15 deadline.Jensen says he has reached a point where he is getting less involved in his business and wants to devote more time to a community that he says is already in great shape. Jensen says he’s been part of some major community efforts through the years”The Envision Cache Valley is a big thing,” Jensen says, “but also Cache 2010 going back and Cache Initiative and a number of other things. But with the new land-use code in Logan and some of the other things that have been done with the downtown specific plan, I think there’s an oppurtunity for Logan to continue to grow.”Jensen says he feels Mayor Watts is doing a great job, the city is in good financial shape and he would like to help keep it that way.
