Social Media helping women find their voice

Social Media has become a major tool for women, not just mothers, in finding their voice. That is according to JoAnn Bamberger, political and media strategist and author of the book

Mothers of Intention: How Women and the Social Media are Revolutionizing Politics in America

.On KVNU’s For the People program Thursday, Bamberger said she expects women and Social Media to have a significant role in the 2012 elections.”Women are natural networkers,” Bamberger explained, “and I think we love our villages and we love reaching out to the people we know and interacting with them and sharing our stories and experiences. I think that’s something that the world of Social Media has allowed women to do in a way as never before. “Before, I’ve got my friends here in the neighborhood and the ones that I see at school and the women that I work with, but my horizons have been so broadened.”Bamberger said it helps that they have found so many other women like themselves that they can connect with to try to make change.
