Utah Guard opens remodeled Brigham City Armory

The Utah National Guard will hold a ribbon-cutting for the remodeled armory in Brigham City Wednesday, June 22, at 6 p.m. The armory is located at 985 N. 500 W. in Brigham City.Home to Detachment 1, Alpha Battery, 1-145th Field Artillery, the Brigham City armory was built in the 1950s. The $1.1 million project included the following improvements: * New windows, paint, carpet, ceiling tile and landscaping * Heating and cooling system upgrades * Expanded and ADA-compliant restrooms and building-access ramps * Communication and data-system infrastructure * Covered storage facility for M109A6 Paladin howitzers * New asphalt parking area and loading rampIn conjunction with the ribbon-cutting, Brigham City and Utah Guard officials will sign a Community Covenant, a formal commitment of support by local communities to Servicemembers of all military branches and their families-active, Guard and Reserve-as well as former members of the military.It is designed to foster and sustain effective community and military relationships and to improve the quality of life for Soldiers and their families.
