Cell phone, Internet services disrupted in Cache Valley Friday

A fiber optic line cut in Ogden has disrupted communication for many Cache Valley residents Friday.According to a local phone provider representative, who was not authorized to give an official statement, the main trunk line for Cache Valley and northern Utah was cut either late Thursday night or early Friday, causing the disruption. Workers are trying to restore services by midnight.The line affected all major carriers in Cache Valley, up to the Idaho border, as well as in Tremonton. Some cell phone service, landline phone service and high-speed Internet service has been interrupted. The disruption has also effected some credit card machines at stores throughout the valley, including many vendors at Summerfest.
