It is probably the most highly-anticipated festival in Cache Valley and Executive Director Marianne Sidwell says the 2011 Summerfest Arts Fair opens Thursday and continues through Saturday on the shady grounds of the Logan Taabernacle. Sidwell says approximately 150 juried artists are on the grounds and on this Fathers Day weekend visitors will have a chance to purchase arts and gifts at great prices. Sidwell says there is something for everybody at Summerfest. “It’s a celebration of all different arts,” Sidwell explains, “visual arts and performing arts and even culinary arts and that’s what we really want to get across. We want to bring art to everyone and that’s why it’s a free event. “Anyone who can come, any walks of life and we hope everyone will, not just to purchase art but just to experience the beauty of art and we want as many people as possible.” Summerfest hours are 12 noon to 10 p.m. Thursday and then 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. There are more food vendors and childrens activities than ever before and Sidwell says the entertainment is special. Thursday, the entertainers are Local Grown, The Pretty Darns, Los Rasquetis, Alicia McGovern, Hot Flashes and Get Back.
