Seat belts save three lives in rollover near Snowville

A man and two boys were sent to area hospitals Monday following a rollover accident on Interstate 84 near Snowville.According to the Utah Highway Patrol, when entering a curve near mile post 22 between Snowville and Tremonton the driver of a Ford F150 drifted off the roadway to the left into the median. The driver, 26-year-old Jason L. Smith of West Valley City, overcorrected back to the right across the road and off to the right side.The vehicle went down an embankment and rolled three times coming to a rest on its wheels facing east. All three people in the car were wearing seat belts.Smith had a large cut on his head, a 10-year-old boy suffered a hand injury and an 11-year-old boy was uninjured. Smith was transported by ambulance to an Ogden hospital and the two boys were taken by ambulance to Bear River Valley Hospital.UHP reminds motorists that an accident like this is proof that seat belts save lives.
