The Utah Department of Transportation advises residents that water shut-offs and intersection closures will occur Tuesday, May 24, and Wednesday, May 25, as a result of work taking place as part of the 10th West Reconstruction Project.According to project officials, water service will be turned off to homes on the east side of 1000 South at 1000 West on Tuesday, May 24. Additionally, homes on the east side of 600 South at 1000 West will see their water service turned off to homes on Wednesday, May 25. In both cases, the homes that are affected will receive a notification flier with specific instructions. This temporary shut-off is being conducted to assist with utility relocations on 10th West at these intersections.Two intersections will also be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. The east side of 1000 South at 1000 West will be closed from 7 a.m. thru the evening on Tuesday, May 24th. Meanwhile, the east side of 600 South at 1000 West will be closed from 7 a.m. thru the evening on Wednesday, May 25th. Motorists should consider alternate routes during these closures and are reminded to obey all posted speed limits during these closures. Fines are double for speeding in construction zones.
