Letter carriers helping to stamp out hunger

The National Association of Letter Carriers is joining forces with Campbell Soup Company Saturday to stamp out hunger across America. Local letter carrier Maureen Henry says all the food collected localy will be taken to the Cache Community Food Pantry. Henry says plastic bags are being delivered to each local residence and the bags will be picked up Saturday, hopefully full of food. Now in its 19th year, the Stamp Out Hunger food drive has become the nation’s largest single day food drive. It looks to surpass last year’s record-breaking total of 7.1 million pounds of food donations to add to the more than one billion pounds collected since its inception. Food donations are to be left beside mailboxes for the letter carriers to pick up .
