With the recent rains and warmer temperatures melting the mountain snowpack, U.S. Forest Service roads on the Logan Ranger District are muddy and slippery and will remain closed until the weather and soil conditions improve.Logan District Ranger Jennifer Parker says the road that had been scheduled to open on April 15 will remain gated and closed until the roads and nearby dispensed camping areas dry out and are suitable for travel.Parker says assuming normal spring weather conditions develop it is anticipated that the roads will open at the end of April. Parker says driving on wet or muddy roads causes ruts to form in the road surface, causes erosion, reduces water quality and makes roads hazardous for the next user.
