Chairman of the Cache County Republican Party stepping down

After serving more than two years in the position, David James is stepping down from his job as chairman of the Cache County Republican Party.James said there will be other changes made official at Friday’s Republican Party organizing convention. It starts 6 p.m. at the Mount Logan Middle School with registration starting at 5:30 p.m.James said serving as chairman has been a great experience for him.”There’s a number of people who are excited and happy to take over and lead the party. I always believe in new blood,” he said. “I just have a number of things, particularly family-wise, that is taking up a tremendous amount of time. So I’m stepping aside. I’m happy to have had the opportunity to serve. I’m confident that the new leadership team coming in will do a great job.”So far Boyd Pugmire, former mayor of Clarkston, is the only candidate for James’ replacement. Pugmire is currently serving as the party’s treasurer.
