April is Child Abuse Prevention month, and the Child and Family Support Center has joined forces with law enforcement and government leaders to strengthen families and protect children in Cache Valley. There were 192 substantiated cases of child abuse in Cache County last year. Several fundraising events have been planned to help bring those numbers down. The center’s development director Lee Dean said the biggest fundraiser, the annual Blue Ribbon Dinner and Auction, will be hosted Friday, April 15. The theme is “The Wild West.””Everybody, find your hat and cowboy boots, and the dinner will be held at the Copper Mill. It’s a lot of fun and we’re looking forward to this event,” Dean said. “On April 16, we are hosting our first annual Princess Party.”Dean said the Princess Party, along with other events, will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Riverwoods Conference Center. Dean said a host of other fundraising activities are being held during the month including the Race Against Child Abuse on April 30 in Wellsville.
