Facebook founder speaks at BYU technology forum

PROVO, Utah (AP) — Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg says he always believed someone would create a social networking site that allowed people worldwide to connect with each other – he just never thought it would be him.The Daily Herald of Provo says the 26-year-old multibillionaire and Utah’s Republican U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch spoke Friday at a Brigham Young University technology forum.Zuckerberg founded the social networking site Facebook while still a sophomore at Harvard. It was originally designed as a campus-only forum. Today, more than half-a-billion people are Facebook users.Hatch says he invited Zuckerberg to BYU so that he would finally “friend” the senator on Facebook.Zuckerberg says he never intended to build a company and says his energetic and passionate employees are the reason for Facebook’s success.
