“Overwhelming” is the word victims of crime advocate Teryl Warner used the most Tuesday night to describe the increase in the number of serious crimes being committed by young people.Warner told the Cache County Council that the numbers of victims are up substantially for such crimes as identity theft, sexual assault, burglary and child abuse. She agreed with Cache County Attorney James Swink that the one common element in almost all of these cases is pornography.She says in many cases the perpetrators are 15 or 16 years old and the victims are nine or 10. Warner described pornography as a very serious problem in Cache County.
