EDEN, Utah (AP) — A fire official says the worst appears to be over after heavy rain and melting snow swelled creeks and streams, flooded at least one road and damaged several homes in two Utah counties.Weber Fire Capt. Rick Cooper told the Standard-Examiner of Ogden that sandbagging helped protect homes and a condominium complex before water ebbed late Wednesday.Cooper says it was a little dicey for a while.Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Lowther says at least five homes flooded in Eden, and several more were threatened.Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Rohbock reported up to 15 homes had water in or around them in Morgan County. He wasn’t sure what the damage was.Hundreds of volunteers and 20 Weber County Jail inmates helped emergency responders place sandbags in affected areas.
