Logan Family Center helps children, families with bullying

Big things are happening at a small white building located on the playground at the Wilson Elementary School at 50 South 400 East in Logan. The building is the official home of the Logan Family Center and Executive Director Claudia Brilliant says the center provides free information and resources for parents. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday, Brilliant said there is a free parent resource library and free Love and Logic parenting classes. She says parents sometimes come in for help with special problems such as bullying.”We have books. We also have DVD presentations, things that parents can train themselves to get ideas on how they can bully-proof their children,” Brilliant explained. “Or, in the Love and Logic classes, we specifically teach how to set limits with children who are doing things like bullying, even bullying their parents.”Brilliant says, when appropriate, the parents are referred to other agencies for help with their problems.
