Cowboy poets, musicians, artisans unite for Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous

It is the first for Cache Valley. It is a reunion of cowboy poets, musicians, artisans and some featured artists as well. The Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous opens next Friday, March 4 and continues through March 6 at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum. Founder and Committee Chairman Dale Major of Avon says in addition to such activities as an evening dinner, open performances on stages, food vendors and continuous cowboy poetry there will be two concerts by the popular Bar-J Wranglers, one on Friday night and the other is a Saturday matinee. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday, Major said other featured performers are cowboy poet and humorist Andy Nelson, Canada’s Cowgirl Eli Barsi and National Yodeling Champion Larry Wilder.”Now those folks will be at the concert and then also during the day on Friday and Saturday, when they’re not in the concert, they’ll take time on the stages to perform,” Majors explained. “So if you like them, if you go to the concert and would like to see them again, there will be other opportunities for them to hear them and also interact with them in the hallways.”The Cowboy Rendezvous will conclude Sunday with a Cowboy Church service to be held at the American West Heritage Center.
