10th West project to begin with Logan River bridge

It has been in the works for a long time but now the environmental issues have been resolved and construction is set to start Monday, February 28 on the 1000 West widening project.Utah Department of Transportation spokesman Vic Saunders says the project begins with the widening of the Logan River Bridge by one lane in each direction. Saunders says people will be feeling an increase in activity in the area.”We don’t believe that actual earth moving will begin until the weather gets a little better, maybe late March or early April,” Saunders explains. “But they will start to see some activity, especially at that Logan River bridge. “That could be a little bit of a choke point so people will want to consider an alternate such as (600) West as they head west, as they head out of town or south or stay on Main Street rather than go through that bridge area.”Saunders says as weather conditions improve activity on the 10th West project will ramp up significantly.
