Cache GOP chair concerned about affects of increased gas prices

Republican U.S. Senators from Utah, Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee, are both scheduled to speak at the Cache County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner on Friday, February 25. Party Chairman David James says the event starts at 6 p.m. at the Elements Restaurant located in the Riverwoods Conference Center.Meanwhile, James says the Utah legislature is halfway through its session and so far all it has been doing is introducing bills, not trying to change the workings of government.”I’m very concerned about what gas prices are doing right now,” James says. “Last time we had gas prices go up significantly was 2008 and gas prices rose dramatically through the first half of the year and we had a financial collapse in the second half of the year.”Now I’m not projecting a financial collapse, but I am very concerned that if gas prices get out of hand that it will cause a lot of trouble for the economy in the United States.” James says tickets for the Lincoln Day Dinner are $28 and everyone is invited, not just Republican Party members.
