James: Sen. Hatch has been making efforts to reach out to Tea Party

Both of Utah’s Republican U.S. Senators, Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee, will be speaking at the Cache County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner this year. Party Chairman David James says the dinner will be held at the Elements Restaurant in the Riverwoods Conference Center on Friday, February 25. The cost is $28 per person.New Senator Mike Lee, who was a Tea Party favorite, has not yet endorsed Hatch in his bid for re-election next year. James says Sen. Hatch has been making efforts to reach out to the Tea Party.”I think he is spending a lot of time listening,” James said of Sen. Hatch. “He’s putting his ideas out to them, listening to them and their concerns and getting their responses. “So I think that is all very positive. How different people are reacting, I know there is some emotion from past history. Washington has changed over the last few years, the last decade. I think Senator Hatch is responding well to those changes.”James has announced that he will not be seeking re-election as Cache County Republican Party chairman when the party holds its annual county convention in April.
