Links of Love is the theme for a fundraiser at the Cache Humane Society’s animal shelter, just one of the special activities going on during February which Director Mike Bishop says is often called, “the month of love.”He says for a $1 donation recipients get a red wrist band and on February 19 the wristbands will be linked together to form a chain all around the shelter. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday, Bishop says 14 cats who have been at the Shelter the longest are referred to as the Lonely Hearts Club. He says the desire is to help them become ex-members of that club.”We’ve reduced their adoption fees and have put in some other promotional items in hopes that they can find good and forever homes,” Bishop explained. “We also have a similar program in the dog area called Puppy Love. “We had 21 puppies enter the shelter about the same time a couple months ago. Now we’re down to 13.”He says the adoption fees have reduced for the puppies also in an effort to help them find permanent homes. Also, a new weekly Pet of the Week spotlight will air each Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. on Cache Valley Radio Group station 92.9 KBLQ.
