Two of his talented daughters will be performing with their father, Dean Kaelin, when the popular singer, songwriter, musician, arranger and voice coach performs in the Logan Tabernacle Friday evening. The special Valentines program is hosted by the Tabernacle Concert and Lecture series and it starts at 7 p.m. There is no admission charge.On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Thursday, Kaelin talked about his experiences as a voice coach for such personalities as American Idol finalist David Archuleta. Asked about the Tabernacle program, Kaelin said it will be an evening of great, old love songs.”When I was playing with my brothers up in Park City we used to play all the old jazz standards, something similar to what you’d hear from Frank Sinatra or Michael Buble today, that type of thing,” Kaelin explained. “I’ve always loved that music. And they’re such great old love songs. “So I thought I’d return to my roots and do a lot of those kinds of songs. There’s also also some beautiful musical theater love songs and even some country love songs.”Kaelin’s daughter Anna has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico and Canada. She was a semi-finalist for American Idol Season 8. His other daughter Alyson is best known for her work in music theater.
