A Lehi man was shot Wednesday while hunting pheasants west of Paradise. Cache County Sheriff Lt. Chad Jensen says the victim, 33-year old Steve Thurgood told deputies he and several friends were hunting when a bird jumped and the other hunters fired, accidentally striking the victim in the legs. Thurgood was transported by private vehicle to the Brigham City Hospital and evaluated. He had several shotgun pellets in his legs. Deputies received the call from the hospital notifying them the incident happened in Cache county. Jensen says Thurgood was released from the hospital a few hours after he was admitted.
