In physical matchup, Bears fall to Juan Diego, 61-54

Bear River played in their most physical game so far this season, and played through it pretty well. Unfortunately for the Bears, they couldn’t score when it mattered most and that resulted in a 61-54 loss to Juan Diego. The killer for the Bears was their common demon, the free throw line. It was a wild and frenzied crowd at Juan Diego and it messed with the Bears. The Bears will look back at this game and shake their heads at a poor second half, including the fourth quarter where they scored only 10 points and were outscored by 13 in the second half. The Bears will take their 2-1 region record up against a double header next week, with a game Wednesday night vs. Grantsville and Friday night against Judge Memorial. Bears’ top performer belonged to Hunter Eschlin with 10 points and 5 rebounds in the game.-Ajay Salveson
