Logan City and Cache Community Connections will not be sponsoring a New Years Eve celebration this year and a spokeswoman says it is mainly because of the low attendance at recent New Years Eve events. There will be a place for senior citizens to go, however. The Pioneer Valley Lodge along with Integrity Home Health and Hospice and Heart and Hands Homecare are hosting a party that starts Friday, December 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pioneer Valley Lodge, 2351 North 400 East in North Logan. Committee member Julie Hansen says everybody age 55 and over is invited. “We’ve got the Westernares, which is a fun band,” Hansen explains. “They’ve played for several of our senior citizen centers around the valley and in Ogden. They’re a country-western band. “We’re going to have all sorts of food. We’ll have all-you-can eat shrimp, we’ll have home-made rootbeer, we’re going to have hotwings, cheese and crackers, crab balls and sweets.” And she says everything is absolutely free.
